I am very happy to write this message on the occasion of the inauguration of the Indo-Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Karnataka.

I am confident that the chamber would fill the gap between the Japanese and the Indian business needs and act as a bridge to bring them together. Chamber would be a major catalyst in filling the vacuum that existed and canalize the Japanese business interests in the right direction. This canalization will not only build trade and commercial interests but also encourage cultural exchanges and contribute to build better bilateral relationships between Japan and India.

Economic liberalization and globalization of the economies have opened up immense opportunities for development of trade, commerce and industry between Japan and India. India's economic liberalization process set in motion since 1991 has created significant opportunities for Japan and India to strengthen their relations in the economic, business and cultural spheres. India and Japan are advanced in science and technology and the positive bilateral relationship has further strengthened the scope for mutual exchange of business and commerce. There is immense scope for development of trade, commerce and industry between Japan and India.

Hence, I call upon all the leading business organizations, entrepreneurs and institutions in Karnataka to make use of this unique opportunity to enhance their business interests. The leading business houses would benefit in a great way by joining hands with the Indo-Japanese Chamber of commerce and Industry of Karnataka. I am confident that the Chamber would be a great success and would become one of the leading Cambers of Commerce and India.
